Re: Post a picture of your pint!
Not exactly my pint given that some of these cans are from the 60's. Felt the need to share. Picture was taken at the family camp in northern NB. Funny enough, used to be called the "Liquor Store Camp" because my uncle originally went in with other NBLC employees before the family bought out the other shares.

First taste of my new Cranberry Rye Saison. I like it and can't wait to see how it matures.

Re: Post a picture of your pint!
Could be better. It's really odd. Not near as sour as the one I had been buying from the beer basement. Almost has a smokey character to it. I'll try to bottle it up for some peeps to try and judge that fermenting method. As weird as this sounds, it seems like a beer that would be better served on cask, like a dark mild....

Re: Post a picture of your pint!
I can't find the original post, did you say how old it was? Did you use a Roselaire or similar yeast?
Smokiness, I think could be phenols (someone help me out here)? Ferm temp?
I think I still have an Oud Bruin or two in the basement, would be nice for a side by side, if you'd like.
Re: the judges thing, there had been talk back and forth from a few of us about choosing a date to get together, and invite guys and gals to pass along some homebrew that they were looking for "expert" (I use that term sarcastically, I promise!) opinion on. "Impartial" is better, I think. But I promise, not just to get ourselves drunk! We'll hash out some details and let everyone know.

Re: Post a picture of your pint!
It's really old, 3 years at least. It was the wildBREWS method. 1056, pedio and lacto, no brett. It's doesn't seem phenolic to me, but I'll try to get some bottled if I can get it to settle down.

Re: Post a picture of your pint!
Was supposed to be an 'old ale' style but came out a bit weak, so I guess an English Brown instead. Tasty enough though.

Becik, haven't been the camp for quite some time. Also, that photo was taken more than a dozen years ago so I doubt the cans are now in any kind of condition that you would want them.becik wrote: This cans you have on exchange or sell?

Enjoying the fruits of my first batch ever. A little too sweet - I was expecting it to be much more bitter. However, since I was expecting my first attempt to blow up on me, the fact that it's actually drinkable is a win.
