Some free malt available at Big Spruce

Post by pet lion » Tue Apr 30, 2013 10:09 am

From their facebook page:
Attention Home Brewers:

Big Spruce had a malted grain delivery recently that included some incorrect grain. Instead of pale 2 row, they delivered 3 complete bags of something else. While we cannot be absolutely sure of what it is (bags were mislabeled), we are reasonably confident it is light crystal malt. Anyone wanting some (this must be for home brewing purposes) can call the brewery on 295-ALES and come by and pick it up. We will even mill it for you.

Thanks for the heads up Peter, my name is on one. There's still one not spoken for. Most likely light crystal, and Jeremy couldn't be sure that it was Organic, that's why he won't use it.

:stupid:
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

They've got some rhizomes for sale as well now.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:
