What did you use for solder/flux? Did you end up finding a local source?

I sourced some stuff from our HVAC rep. Just a tub of crappy no name paste flux and high silver content solder. Requires a fair bit of heat (used acetylene here), but I have had success with my mini mapp/oxy set up at home.

impressive, I had no success with any of the plumbing flux's I tried. Reminded me I should update my soldering thread with some pics of the keggles

This was labelled low temperature brazing flux, although I consider red hot metal to be a bit more than low temp, lol.

Once I get my last few solders done I probably have the Stay-Clean flux for anyone that wants it I think theres like 15oz of the 16oz remaining, haha.

Hey was just reading this. I thought Id recommend Batterns flux and Silver flux( one can be sourced at NSCAD school art store) these fluxes are used in goldsmithing (ex goldsmith here) and they flow really well and once they wet out theyll flow anything from gold straight through low silver low temp solders. Not busting on anyone just in case anyone has this problem and need a good flux. Peace out.
