Homebrew information request

For anyone who is interested, I received this email tonight:

Hi there,

I'm writing about home brewing for a magazine through the King's School of Journalism. I'm looking for some information on what people need and advice for getting started, home brew competitions, recipes, the culture of home brewing in general, and advantages to making you own beer at home.
I was wondering if there's anyone from the BrewNosers who I could talk to sometime this week. I won't need much time, just a chat (perhaps over a beer?) to talk brewing basics, and why people love doing it. Since I'm working under deadline a meeting during the week would be great (March 4 - 8) but the weekend could work too.
