Where to buy: Johnson Freezer Controller

Post by Two Wheeler » Thu Feb 21, 2013 2:06 pm

Hey everyone,

Picked up a small chest freezer last night, looking to build a fermentation chamber/ future keezer. Looking around for Johnson regulators. I know NG has the analog one for $89, but I was looking for a digital one like this: Amazon Link. The amazon seller won't ship to Canada and I can't seem to find any readily available in Canada.

Any help here?

I don't know what you have against analog ones. I have one and love it. It is dependable and accurate enough for fermentation control
and for keezer applications. I also have a cheapo digital one that also works well that I got on E-bay... ST-1000 or something like that.

Analog one here as well that I bought from torontobrewing.ca. Has worked really well for me so far. I looked at the digital ones as well but I'm glad I went with analog, because I just set it and forget it hanging off the back of the keezer.

The analog can leak, that's the main difference.

I paid $23.00 for the STC 1000 from e-bay china. Took 5 weeks to get here. It works great. You need someone with electrical knowledge to hook it up. I bought two at once for that price. No tax and free shipping.

I still have my analog controler. Be careful with the wire going into your fermentation chamber. My first one from years ago leaked and I had to buy another one. Try not to move it around once you install it in your chamber. I learned that the hard way.
