Can anyone tell me how long your beer will stay carbonated ,when you fill a couple bottles from your taps? I have a number of people that want to try some of my beer , and I think this would easier than at kegging time!!!!
Cheers

I use a beer gun when filling my bottles and doing it that way it usually lasts a few months. The reason I say that is
because the only time I use the gun is when filling for competitions. I save a few brews for my own sampling and it usually
takes a few months for the score sheets to make it to my door so I can review the beer I saved as I read the sheets.
Just from the tap, I wouldn't let it go too long. It will eventually oxidize.

If you let it foam up over the top before capping you will significantly reduce the O2 in the bottle since foam is mostly CO2.

You probably already know, but I thought I would add that it helps to turn the keg serving pressure down to almost nothing (prevents foaming)

put the bottles in the freezer for 10 min before hand. keeps them cold and reduced heat exchange which can cause foaming as well

and it doesn't hurt to purge your chilled bottles with CO2 immediately before filling to reduce oxygen exposure

Do you guys use the Blickman Beer Gun or the racking cane in a small stopper method?

i use the racking cane and small stopper technique. Works well, not much foaming, stays well carbed. That being said the longest i've ever went was 3 weeks just as a test and it was fine.

I use a small piece of racking cane with stopper. Works well with the pressure turned right down. Bottles have sat for a month or two with no negative affects.

I'm with you on this. Can't justify buying a beer gun when this method is so easy and seems to work just fine.

I skip the small stopper and it seems to work fine. I rest the racking cane in sanitizing solution while I cap and have yet to see an infection. Although sometimes its slightly undercarbed, although that may have just been the first couple times I did it.
