Pretty sure that is only on pin lock kegs(keep that in mind, different dimensions). You may want to compare pricing to ontariobeerkegs.com also.

Like Allan said - I'd check with Ontario Beer Kegs. The kegs that come with the Noble Grape kit can be in pretty rough shape and could possibly need the o-rings replaced. You'll also get a new tank with the OBK kit, as well as a regulator that includes a pressure relief valve and and an "on/off" ball valve with built in check valve.

Also consider the perilick tap upgrade at OBK, most people don't regret the upgrade. When I started I bought the cheap taps and later upgraded (which seems to be a common story)

Ng will give u new o rings when u buy the system. U can usually fish through the kegs and find some that are decent.

i wish i could get just the kegs and tank, i can rig up the rest. but thats way more expensive. the relief valve on the reg. doesn't really serve much of a purpose. you should always purge your lines anytime anything is changed or disconnected, and the kegs are outfitted with a pressure valve to ensure you don't over charge for the container are they not?

the co2 bottles at obk is 65 but unfilled. nb is 99 filled, not much difference there. i am not sure though about the pin vs the ball lock tough. i know most use the pepsi kegs and not the coke but what is the benifits of one vs the other.

Fridge space is the biggest factor.

Pepsi kegs are taller and smaller diameter which might be more useful in a smaller keezer

Ball lock seem to be more common and I prefer them, but they both work fine. One thing to keep in mind, pin lock are larger diameter, so they don't work as well in some mini-fridges (mine for example) and you can't get as many in some keezers.

Is NG giving out new tanks now? When I got my first tank from NG it was a re-certified steel tank, my one from OBK is a new aluminum one as Jimmy mentioned. As this was my second kegerator I knew I wanted the perilick taps, which is another reason I went with OBK (that and it was cheaper since there was no sale). I also wanted the CO2 manifold, and MFL fittings. In any case I just mentioned to compare the two, I'm not trying to make a case against NG.

From http://www.cornykeg.com/store.asp?pid=29969" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The Differences:

Other than the connections there are a couple of other differences you may find between the two styles. The first difference is the dimensions. A standard Pepsi style keg is about 3” taller and 1” smaller in diameter than a standard coke style keg.

The second thing you will find is that the Pepsi style Cornelius Kegs typically have a pull ring relief valve in the center of the lid while the coke style Cornelius Kegs have a “fuse” type relief valve. In the case of the Coke style Cornelius Keg most people just depress the gas side post to relieve pressure from the keg.

Cornelius Kegs - pin lock or ball lock? The choice really comes down to personal preference or in many cases what is available at the time. You can purchase either the pin lock style or the ball lock style from the CornyKeg web site. Note that most of the ball lock kegs sold on the CornyKeg web site are converted pin lock style kegs.

AFAIK the pin locks are the only ones with an actual built in pressure relief - the ball locks will only relieve pressure when you pull up on them (they aren't automatic).

where can people fill co2 containers? i find $25 from ng to exchange a little steep for a 5lb fill. i would rather keep my tank and have it filled, much like propane is much cheaper to fill at costco rather then an exchange. is the a costco type store for co2?

Don Brentons. There's also a place in Burnside that RubberToe mentioned to me the other night; I forget the name though.

What do you mean by not automatic? At some point the pressure will overcome the spring and push the relief up. Based on the state of a lot of these kegs that pressure will likely vary a bit tho.

I believe that the pin lock coke kegs are close to 0.5cm wider in diameter. You would probably break your fridge/yourself trying to cram two of these into your run of the mill danby mini fridge. I couldn't fit two coke kegs in by fridge, but managed to just squeeze in two pepsi kegs!!!

I have two friends wanting to make the jump to kegging, does NG only offer pinlock kegs now incl the christmas deal?

269.99 for a cobrakit and two pinlock kegs with 5# steel reconditioned keg sale price is a good deal.

Best I can do is 249.98 for a cobra kit and two ball lock kegs with 5# with new Alum tank everyday price but you have to pay 14.99 shipping.

I'd be going for that. A new aluminum tank and the ball locks make it worthwhile.

The only problem going forward is sourcing ball locks.

How wide is your fridge? Can you fit more ball lock than pin lock, or does it make no difference?

They still make ball lock kegs. Plus you can buy new ones form 70 bucks. There is another NSF approved one identical to AEB kegs in looks and specs coming out early next year as well just without the price of AEB.

They do not make pin lock kegs or OEM parts for them anymore.

With the economy 2.5 gallon kegs you've got now - can you stack them and still get QDs on the bottom keg? If so, that would be a slick way to have 4 different kegs on tap in one small fridge
