Stir Bar?

Hey guys,

Want to make a stir plate and need to track down a stir bar. Any of you lab geeks have a stash to share? If not, where can I find one?

I use 1 gallon jugs for my starters and the concave bottom can make keeping the bar centered kinda tricky, and I've read a 'dumbbell' type stir bar can work better in these? What about tracking down one of these?

Thanks

Tim

I saw a video on youtube where a guy used a tea pot on a stir plate to make his starters. The tea pot has a flat bottom and is way cheaper than an erlenmeyer flask. That would let you use a regular stir bar if you can't find the other kind.

I use 3L mason-type jars for my starters for the same reason, much cheaper than a flask.
