I've started to have people ask me to brew batches for them for parties or whatever.
Kinda not wanting to take out a regulator every time and leaving it at a party with a bunch of drunks.

Yup, they work pretty well. Might need more than one CO2 cartridge to dispense a full keg. Don't try and carbonate your beer with one of these, be sure you're starting from fully carbed beer.

And that isn't the thing to leave with drunks either.
I have one that I use from time to time and would't leave it with anyone who isn't familiar with how to actually use it.
My buddy tried to change a cylinder on mine when it wasn't empty... kept it from flying off into the room at the expense
of freezing part of his hand. He'll never do that again.
It can also be ruined by not using it properly.

Well a cylinder under a few thou PSI isn't safe anywhere near drunks not familiar with it. Crack that valve off and you have a situation on your hands,
You could use extra long hoses or at least make sure your tank is really secured.

need to figure a way to really keep the keg and reg separate from the picnic tap i guess

Yeah, if you're dealing with peeps totally unfamiliar with draft equipment, maybe just gravity feed the beer out, or hook up a bicycle pump, and make sure they kill the keg.

I've found those quick chargers to be a blessing and a curse. A blessing cause I don't have to worry about my tank and regulator getting mangled but a curse because no matter how many times you tell people the steps, they forget, lose the simple instruction sheet and then complain afterwards that they had to open the keg and tip the beer out.. I was thinking those jacpac's might be the solution. Oh and if you do go the charger way, make sure to include at least 4 per keg, inevitably 1 or 2 will get wasted

yeah i actually phone PA earlier on the jacpac thing
they are still 60 bucks
but they have 12

After some research those jacpacs seem a bit iffy... mrX said he saw them for $20 which would be a steal, even if they only lasted 3-4 times. $60 seems a bit much for poorly made plastic...

A bunch of us here have them, and I don't think there were any serious issues.
