Event Idea

Post by bluenose » Thu May 10, 2012 2:31 pm

So my idea might be a little nerdy, but what if there was an event where everyone brewed a beer that was a clone of a commercial beer

I would call it... ready for this... The Clone Wars

there could be a blind taste against the original...
This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Great idea!

I'll cheat and brew a beer none of you have ever had. So no idea whether mine is the original or the clone. ;)

Great idea, especially with all the clone recipes from Can You Brew It available. Unfortunately, most (if not all) of those beers aren't available for purchase around here (of course).

I just bottled my Epic Pale Ale clone from that podcast... a whopping 10+ oz of Cascade hops in a 5-gallon batch.

You need to check the Halifax monthly meeting threads.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

Only if I get a Heritage Minutes commercial out of it.

Those in your mid-30s or older will get what I mean.

I'll wait until one of my brews tanks, then find a commercial beer from one of the big breweries that tastes just as bad and claim I was cloning it.
