Not sure if anyone needs more hops (I sure as hell don't), but Hops Direct is having a sale:

Mostly usual suspects, some decent prices. Amarillo and Citra stuck out to me as the only popular varieties that tend to disappear later on in the year.

I'll have to place an order when I get home. How long are pellet hops good in the freezer, just in a freezer bag?

I just placed an order for 5 lbs, I wonder what the shipping quote will be like. Hopefully they use USPS, if not I may cancel.

Last order I made went USPS, but it was fairly expensive.

How many lbs had you ordered?

From an older post it looks like 5 lbs per med flat rate box, $27, up to 7 lbs in large flat rate box, $33. So this will cost me about $75 for 5#, average of $15/lb. It's not bulk hops order prices but it's ok for someone who has no hops inventory... I think. Getting Amarillo, Columbus, Willamette, Nugget, Czech Saaz. Open to trades.

I've got a ton of Willamette (like 1.5lbs if I remember correctly) if you wanted to trade some Saaz and/or Amarillo so you could reduce your order a bit.

What are the usual prices per pound when doing a group buy with brewnosers? Can someone pm me.

Thanks for the offer. I'd take you up on it but shipping will still cost the same and the Willamette are priced awesomely at $6. Once I get them in maybe we can start a hops trading thread to spread the bulk around.

Be prepared for being charged duty when the package crosses the border. Us SAAZ folks ordered from Freshops back in the fall and got dinged with duty.

For that price it's probably USPS... I hope. I didn't ask. If so, $5 brokerage fee from Canada Post and roll the dice on weather or not getting charged tax. If it's FedEx or UPS the brokerage fee will hurt.

I ordered 5 lbs. I wonder if they fucked up and charged me the domestic shipping price. Nova Scotia, CA == California?? Don't laugh, it's happened. I hope this doesn't come UPS. Maybe I'll contact them.

Mine was 4 lbs and shipping came to $38.55.

Jeez, tell me about it. Put me down for 2 lbs of EKG as soon as you open the next NCM order. I always think about the hops that really jump out at you, but forget that you need basic workhorse hops like Goldings.

Yeah they effed up my shipping bill. I had to pay another $22.

My shipping came to 42.66 for 7 pounds.

That's the reason I stopped using them. I don't find those shipping charges reasonable.
