American ale yeasts

Hey all,
Does anyone have any experience with Wyeast 1272 or 1450?
I brewed my last lager for the season last month, so I'm starting to think about the upcoming ale season (March - October for me). Normally I like to open ferment, and top crop my yeast for repitching, ideally for the entire season if I can. I've had good luck with 1056, but I think I want to try something else. Beers will include: Porter, APA, American wheat ale, winter warmer, blonde ale, barleywine, special bitter and mild (I like English beers more for their hops and malts than their yeast flavours).
