2011 Simcoe Hops at Hopdawgs

Post by jeffsmith » Mon Feb 20, 2012 9:53 am

Got an email over the weekend from Chris at Hopdawgs.ca. They've apparently got Simcoe in stock if anyone is on the hunt (and doesn't mind paying retail):
The long awaited Simcoe Hops have arrived. I'll have them in stock here at Hop Dawgs February 27.
I expect them to go fast as demand has been high this year. Here are the the prices:
1 oz - $2.50
8 oz - $15.00
1LB - $27.00

Please don't respond to this email. Please place orders through the Hop Dawgs site here: Simcoe Orders

Also a good time to pick up some Wyeast on sale at $6.00/pk (ignore the price on the site, I'll adjust your order manually)

Yeah pellet.

Unfortunately, we have a 22# limit, so I put us down for that amount (@ $10.30/#). That is all that I think we are going to get, so we are going to have to spread the love on that one.

Once we square up on the last order, I can open up another sheet for just Simcoe, or if there are people who want other things, we can probably do that too. I find out today if there are any other varieties on the new shipment.

I'm in for more hop shoots for sure, lol. And a pound of simcoe. :)
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

sign me up as well
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

I think the "bag" is 11 lbs. But put me down for anything up-to a pound.
Currently on tap: Nothing!
In keg: Still nothing.
In Primary: Doggone American Rye Pale Ale

Hold up! Sorry Gam, I only skimmed the page and thought we were still talking about $27 a pound. At 11 I'll be needing a full pound (at least).
