Coopers kits

I’ve never done a kit before but Costco had coopers can kits on sale. 6 of them for $75. I got the real ale ones. I made a partial mash (also never done before) with some roasted barley and chocolate malt to make a stout. No idea if this will turn out but it was fun trying something new. Anyone have experience with these?

I like to modify the kits when they're on sale. I made a European Lager kit with amerillo hops that turned out great, it had a nice IPA-esque flavour. Coopers had a RIS on their recipe I tried making once that was so delicious I was amazed. It was basically a can of stout, porter, and draught all mixed together.

I've never thought of trying to make it a whole other style though. How did it turn out?

Wasn't bad. Took an hour to make and was decent enough. If I do it again I'll probably just hop the shit out of it and make a pale ale or something.

Do you still have the rest of the kits?
