Hi folks, just bought a spider as the cheese cloth has motecygan doubled in price. Unfortunately it is taller than my Boil pot, so I'm slightly concerned with scorching. Should I worry? (Just a pot on a stove, nothing fancy).Thx.

"motecygan" = "more than", hehe.

I tried resting the hop spider on the bottom of the pot for a small batch once and yep, it scorched a lot. Might be best to try to figure out a way to keep it off the bottom if possible.

Yeah, I borrowed a metal thingy my wife uses for canning for the 1st boil. Was hoping it wasn't really going to be a problem, but you've seen the proof.
I wonder if anyone knows if I could use something like this? OXO Good Grips Silicone Pressure Cooker Sling ...

I imagine cleaning might suck, but I wonder if there would be any other issues using a silicone sling inside my boil? Anyone know?
