Hop Shoots are up 2022

Post by mumblecrunch » Mon Apr 18, 2022 6:27 pm

Guessing I’m not the only person who checked out his garden this long weekend. Shoots are up across the board, including my youngest plants (3 years old now) so I’m claiming my plot “firmly established” (also I totally need to clean up last year’s dead bines)

They remind me of asparagus. I wonder if you can eat them?

Mine were just poking through Friday. Need to trim some trees nearby, too much shade... Looking forward to hopefully getting enough for at least one batch this year.

Hey! Here's a selfish classified ad at the bottom of my name...
Party Time Brewing - Check it out. It's Beer! Sometimes available at Battery Park and soon at Real Fake Meats on Gottingen St. PM me if you want to buy some beer or just stop by and check out the brewery.

If hops could talk I suspect they's tell you to leave the bines to give them something to grab on to and guide them to where you want them.

They qualify as food for taxation purposes. Is that good enough for you?
