Boil time

Post by kenny10 » Sun Aug 29, 2021 8:59 am

We all have been programmed to do 90 min boils when using Pilsner malt to run off DMS. The malts today are well modified so I have dropped to 60 min boils with Pilsner malt. I have been listening to a bunch of David Health podcasts ect and he only does 30 minute boils for all brews I believe….anyone do 30 minute boils with Pilsner malt. Cutting some time off brew day with no ill affects is appealing

The author of this one says he plans to try again with a pils 90 vs 30.

Ah, found it! https://brulosophy.com/2015/09/14/boil- ... t-results/

Seems worth a shot I'd say!

I haven’t done more than a 30
minute boil in probably a few years.

1’ve done 90 mins on pils and 60 on everything else. Will try a shorter boil.
