Anyone have any experience dealing with Hopsdirect.com?
Their prices look good I'm just wondering if their shipping costs are reasonable.
Also, any quality issues?
Thanks!

I have no personal experience, but a buddy of mine in Fredericton told me:
"I had 8lbs of hops arrive at my door this morning from Hops Direct. AFTER shipping, taxes, and exchange, the average price came to $1.05/oz. The cheapest of the bunch (Columbus) was a mere 90 cents per ounce after shipping, taxes, exchange. "
He's been really happy with them, and highly recommends ordering from them.
You may be able to get a group order together to share on shipping. I'd be interested in going in on some.

And a message my buddy got from Hopsdirect:
"We do ship to Canada. The most economical method is USPS. We can get up to five 1# packages of hop pellets in a Medium Flat Rate Box for $26.95 or seven 1# packages in a Large Flat Rate Box for $33.95. I also know that there are additional charges that Canada Customs charges, but
I do not know the amount of those charges. Thanks for your inquiry and you can go to our webpage
www.hopsdirect.com to place an order."

I'd be interested too. Can you freeze hop pellets?

You sure can, I keep all my hops in the freezer in the most air tight conditions I can get them in. Most of my pellet hops are kept in 1 litre water bottles purged of oxygen with a carbonator cap.

I haven't ordered from Hops Direct - but my last order of 4+ lbs from the US (
http://homebrewit.com) via USPS (US Postal Service) arrived free of duties or even HST. Anything I buy from the US I insist on USPS - they charge minimal, if any, customs brokerage fees ($5-10), where UPS and FedEx charge an arm and a leg, and I fairly frequently get smallish (like under $100) orders without any COD charges.
I averaged about $1.20/oz from homebrewit, iirc. otoh, they shorted me 2 oz of Centennial, so thanks for reminding me to ask about it...
