Just brewed a Blueberry wheat Friday, a Marzen (Muinich Madness from Brewing Classic Styles) on Saturday, and today an IPA to use up the rest of the hops from last summer still kicking in the freezer. Also kegged my oatmeal stout. As much as I dislike winter, I'm going to be sad when the weather turns warm and my perfectly cooled closet turns back into a heater. It will be back to one temp controlled fridge again.

Anyone else got anything on the go?
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

I am going to do up a batch on Edwort's "Robust Porter," but substituting in Willamette and Fuggles since I have a few ounces to use up. I am also going to throw in some flaked oats instead of the malto-dextrin he calls for.

Haven't decided yet, I'd like to get 2 extract/partial mash brews on the go this weekend, but I'm being indecisive. I'm deciding between a porter, black IPA, brown ale or ESB. Sigh...

Forgot to mention: if anyone is interested in dropping by, we're up for visitors. It's on Broadholme Lane in Wedgewood (near Kearney Lake/Dunbrack intersection). We usually get started around 10, so drop by any time after that. Msg for exact address. Prepare to try some decent homebrew and other beers, and feel free to bring by your own to share.

Today is episode #3 in 'Brewing What My Wife Wants, to Keep Her Happy' Series - Boddington's Clone.

Hopefully, she won't be looking when I weigh out the hops so I can be a little heavy handed than what the recipe calls for.

You poor guy. If I try to make beer to a recipe, my wife is likely to say "Surely there should be more hops..."
Currently on tap: Nothing!
In keg: Still nothing.

She's learning to like hops more and more - she's not a big fan of c-hops tho :?

I think it'll be a good beer to give away to friends and family so I don't have to waste the good stuff.

Is anyone brewing this weekend? I posted over at the Club Discussion earlier about a "learn to brew day." I'm certainly interested in learning about all-grain brewing, and as I said on the other thread, I'm prepared to work, learn, and bring some food or whatever else is asked of me.
Brewing right now: whatever is going on tap at Stillwell in a few weeks.

That's a good idea Ben. I am in the same situation as you, so would be happy to spend my Saturday learning something. I could chip in on supplies, bring food, do whatever. It would be a good way for me, and any other newer members to meet the group

Geez I wish I had seen this earlier! I was bored so I decided to brew an all Glacier IPA today. I could have got you to bring me coffee, steak (med rare), $500 in cash and a load of beers from Premiere

Oh well, maybe next week....

Got brewing classic styles in the mail this afternoon, so decided to try brewing up the scotch ale recipe. had to substitute aromatic for honey malt, as well as goldings for fuggles, but hopefully it will still taste pretty good!
