Just wondering what the pros/cons of dry hopping pre-keg (in the secondary after fermentation is done) versus hanging a hop bag inside the keg. I need to wait a week for it to carb up anyways, so doing it in the keg doesn't add any additional time. My beers usually only last a month or two in the keg, so I shouldn't get any grassy flavours (I'm using pellet hops)??
Seems like a no brainer to dry hop in the keg no?

I left hops in the keg for over 7 months with no grassy flavour, but it was a massive hop bomb.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.

X, those were leaf or pellet hops? Does it matter for dry hopping in the keg?

Dry-hopping in a bag will always minimize efficiency, especially with pellets. If you can, dry-hop in the secondary, loose. If not, in the keg is okay but the hops will begin lending the green grassy flavour which isn't a bad taste by any means, sort of similar to a fresh hopped beer.

I would lean away from dry hopping with loose pellets... They WILL clog your dip tube. Put them in a tea ball, pantyhose, something very fine. I have been bit before!
