I have had a few people I should rack to Secondary. I have never done this and just would like know the thoughts of others if this is something I should do or does it matter?

I don't rack to a secondary. I wait for it to clear somewhat and then bottle/keg. I do let it sit in the primary at least 14 days, most of the time around 3 weeks, depending on what is being brewed.

I do the same as McGruff. I only rack to secondary when I want to age a beer for a long time (>2 months).

Racking to a secondary came about from mimicking wine kits. As stated above it is only necessary for extended aging or dry hopping.

Even with dry hopping it isn't really necessary. I only use it for anything that needs to spend several months on brett or something like that.

I rack to secondary glass carboys if I'm cold crashing, fining and kegging. This ensures my beer crystal clarity with zero to minute sediment. I usually do this to my lagers after lagering for 6-18 weeks. There's no need when I'm bottling, as the beer precipitates settle in the bottles.

I don't think it really makes a difference when kegging. I often fine *in* the keg, and if you're not moving the keg around, you might get a bit of sediment in the first and last pour, but other than that it is perfectly clear.
