Brewnoser wrote:Ahem. I submit that I have been doing at least my share, plus that of a few others, to empty the vats there. Including the firkin (4 pints, I think....) Plus I bring in people with me, thereby doubling the impact. Fcuk, I should get a discount! :mebeer:
You have been doing your share Jeff! I should have said 'you all' :cheers2:

I'm sure things will pick up speed as we continue to make improvements at the pub with staff training and improvements on the food side of things. Still, it's not like the seasonals are going to disappear at a high rate of speed so it's going to take some time. I've still got about 1800 glasses of Kapt'n Schwarz and 750 glasses of DIPA to move, next one on tap will be Wreckoning RIS then the first collaboration brew - Brewnoser BPA will be next.

In the meantime I'll figure out which of you will be next to join in the collaboration series. I did down-size Xman's batch in the interest of moving it through a little faster to make room for the next one. That said we still finished with 810 L. After I make another little modification on the mash-tun I'll be able to down-size batches even more. :cheers2:

I've been downsized before. It wasn't pleasant.

The first night I went the service was just horrid, but the beer was great. With the exception of what the server told me was a second glass of the brown in my sample tray - that Prop. Porter was horrid. Maybe a dirty line? I had one sip and that was enough.

I went back last Saturday and had an amazing burger of meaty meatness and the beer was still great! I had a different server too and she was decent, although this time I didn't ask any questions about beer.

I'll be back again tomorrow!

Well there's no excuse for horrid service, I'll fix you up the next time I see you. As far as knowledgeable staff goes, nobody works or applied to work at Rockbottom in the past because of their stunning beer or worldwide reputation as a phenomenal brewpub if you see what I'm saying. At this point there's a couple that display interest in beer and learning, and several more that may never know anything about beer because they have no interest. It's a work in progress and will take time to get the staff up to par or replaced, some of them have worked there for years. It's a big ongoing project from every angle, my goal is to get the place up to snuff and now that the holiday rush is over, the brewery is built and there's lots of beer on hand I'm stepping it up a notch.

The Propeller Porter you had was infected, phenolic as balls. I try to have a taste of all my beers at least every few days to be sure nothing is going wonky but wasn't tasting the Propeller

Glad you noticed improvement in the burger too :cheers2:

See you at the bar!

Speaking of the burger, for the love of god, don't order the jalepenos unless you get a pint of sour cream on the side, lol. Other than that, the burger was pretty good.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

Yeah, who knew the fella running the kitchen was a chili-head, Jesus that burger had almost as much Jalapeno on it as there was ground beef

I gave him some of these the other day and he couldn't stop raving about them (also, I gave one of these chips to a lady friend and she wouldn't speak to me for a couple days. I don't think it's meant to be  )

I want this before you convince NASH to get them to change change it. Perhaps I'll ask for extra jalepenos :). Yum.

I don't think you're ever going to get Nash to even try to get the kitchen to tone down chilis.

Well, this was an extreme burger. I won't say it was inedible, becuase i did eat it. And I can't say that it wasn't good, because I did enjoy it. Just a fair warning for those who might be interested - when you literally cannot see a reasonably sized burger under the mountain of jalepenos, it should actually come with a warning. Or maybe the chef was interrupted from his smoke break for the last time, lol.

Yup, and they were pickled peppers which I believe must have been pickled in habanero juice!

I had one too but removed about 10 or so since I wanted to taste some of the burger. Xman had cheese melted over them so wasn't willing to remove any!

Thanks for coming out everyone! Without your support this wouldn't be possible, that sucker was about 3/4 gone when I left a bit ago :cheers2:

That beer is fantastic on cask even though it tastes more like a weizen than a BPA. It'll be interesting to see how the main batch tastes with some conditioning time. I think I'll refill the firkin tomorrow with the same beer for next weekend.
