Really? DME is out of PEI, supplies commercial equipment. That conical was a leftover of the RB ferment on site.

Peter, I assume you gave it a taste. Did you find it had more of a Citrus or Pepper flavor?

Re: Random brewing pics
I didn't actually taste it but sure sniffed the hops over and over. Some of the nicest smelling hops I've encountered. Definitely was getting a good aroma of orange and felt there was some of the pepper there as well. Expecting more from the orange flavours.

Re: Random brewing pics
So the Saison is hoppier than expected. I'd say it's more of an IPA (which tastes great btw), and well the smoked red tastes like an amber. I think I got different grains, no smoked flavor at all. Both I'm happy with tho
.
Black IPA next. Fingers crossed on this one!

Re: Random brewing pics
CiderBeerWine, thanks for posting all those pics of your set-up! Building a scratter and press will probably be my summer project this year. I think I'll take your advice from an earlier thread and build a square "barrel" -- circular ones are a bit beyond my ken at this point! -- and use a jack instead of a screw to do the pressing. Some really nice shots here of the scratter and frame designs in particular so, again, thanks. Very helpful stuff.

Re: Random brewing pics
Well, it's definitely fermenting.
It's a fruit beer, so I think the added sugar made the yeast go all out. Any concerns/hazards I should be aware of with this?
