Feels like a long time since I brewed. Took an extra day on the weekend, mashed in this morning on a quick American Pale with lots of Cascade and Simcoe late in the boil.

I just ordered the ingredients for a New England style IPA, 12oz of glorious hops most of which will be in the whirlpool and dry hop.

We'll be bottling our Cigar City Maduro clone at the same time.

Brewed up an IPA with Mosaic and El Dorado yesterday :cheers3:
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Did you use Mosaic and El Dorado in equal quantities? I don't have any experience with El Dorado and I just used Mosaic for the first time (the beer isn't ready to be carbonated yet). What are combinations have you used with Mosaic? I've heard it's an interesting one!

I did use equal amounts of each. I haven't brewed much mosaic so I'm not sure of other combos but beers I've drank with mosaic were always great even on its own

Just kegged 10 gallons of peanut butter chocolate stout. That's one chocolately, nutty yeast cake!

I picked this beer up in NB the last time I was up, and it inspired me to give it a go.

Planning on brewing a chocolate coffee porter up this weekend, any thoughts on how/when I should add the coffee?

I done my last coffee beer by adding whole beans to the secondary.

Thanks for the insight, do you recall how much you added? I'm looking for quite a punch.

I used 112g in a 25L batch of Golden stout. Going to brew a coffee porter coming up with 200g

I do whole beans myself too. In my nut brown I use 1.25oz per 5 gallons. It's noticeable but not over the top. For a Stout or Porter I'd definitely go up to 3-4oz. :cheers2:

Is that a ~40L batch or ~20L? I might have used to little hops if it's 20L.

Attempting to brew 2 beers on the weekend for the HRB comp. DIPA will be Version 4 of Hoppily Ever After. I remember bringing a few bottles of batch 1 to the first advent. Was extremely malt forward. Now it's down to about 8srm and showcases the hops. However my Milk Stout isn't to style but I'm not changing it haha.

Just finished a double brew day. Had a few ppl over. Including my nephew for his first brew. We brewed an Imperial Chocolate Milk Stout and a DIPA. Tacked on a few extra hours so Miles and Jeremy could take the 2nd runnings. Pretty boil gravity on the 2nd runnings of stout was 1.046. 2nd runnings og on the dipa was 1.050. Should be interesting to see what each will do.

And the stout hit the limits of my mashtun. Right to the brim using 103lbs of grain. The dipa left 4.5 gallons of trub.
