Making another poolside Blonde this afternoon (2nd one). West Yorkshire ale yeast, Pilsner, some munich11 and late hopped with Galaxy. I want to make this with conan but there's none around to be had.

Add a bit of Orange zest to the poolside, it was great as it was, but I wonder how the zest would play out. Just think then you would have a White Poolside Blonde. lol :cheers2:
As for the Conan, I hear ya, i'm wanting it for the DIPA I'm planning.

Are you talking about making it into a witbier? I'd need un-malted wheat in there also wouldn't I? coriander as well as orange peel? Where do you get un-malted wheat? What kind of yeast? I might have a go at that. I was just reading up on it.

Any advice?

Be careful with grain temps - I mashed in 10F higher because I left my grain sitting in the sun for an hour or two before mashing in. Easily and quickly corrected with a litre of cold tap water but still.
planning: beer for my cousin's wedding
Fermenting: black ipa
Conditioning:
Kegged: barrel barleywine from 2014 - i think i still have this somewhere

Slow night at the house so i'm brewing up a pale ale :cheers3:
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Me too, just trying my latest APA for the first time, it's golden, smooth and citrusy and tropical fruity. Trying to think up a name for it. I want to call it Goldilocks for some reason...is that weird?

as good a name as any! Part of what makes it your beer :spilly:

That's pretty good Keith.

Goldilocks would be a better name for a Blonde, but I might stick with it.

Brewing this evening for a wedding in Cape Breton on the 23rd. Tonight is a double batch of Kolsch and tomorrow will be a double batch of Irish Red. 120 Liters for the weekend, not too shabby :spilly:

I want to make a kolsch this fall. My temperature control is still based on the temperature of my basement though, so tomorrow's beer is Belgian blonde.
