I'm making a Citra and Simcoe APA. My usual APA malt bill (MO and Munich) with 8 oz each Simcoe and Citra (double batch), both FWH and Late. Mangrove Jack M44 West Coast Ale yeast. I think I'm calling it "CitRaRA".

I have my water chemistry perfected now. 7g Gypsum, 3g Epsom salts, 7ml Phosphoric acid. I went with the lucky numbers approach  ...makes nice beer though. Room temp. Mash PH comes out at between 5.25 and 5.3 with my water and those additions with that malt bill.

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Just kegged 10g of pineapple pale ale. It was the first batch on the new system and I hit my gravity and volumes pretty well bang on. After I had the 2 kegs filled there was about 1 cup of beer still left that could have been kegged, the rest was dry hop sludge.

Cleanup was simple. I dumped the hop sludge, gave it a quick spray to get rid of the caked on crud, wiped it down, and then sprayed it again. All the parts are sitting in a bucket of PBW right now.

Just finishing up chilling an ESB I decided I'd brew at 4pm. 6.5 hours from deciding to brew, coming up with a recipe, then getting my grain n brewing isn't too bad.the biggest hassle has been cleaning my carboys.
planning: beer for my cousin's wedding
Fermenting: black ipa
Conditioning:
Kegged: barrel barleywine from 2014 - i think i still have this somewhere

Making another high gravity batch tonight. 1.080 of 2-row, vienna, c15 and carapils. Hopped to 40 ibus with generous zythos and simcoe late additions, split into 2 fermenters and topped up with water to make two 5 gal batches of 1.040 ale. One batch will get US-05 and will be dry hopped with simcoe and zythos. The other will get american farmhouse yeast for a funky summer ale.

Fermenting: Oud bruin/Vienna Pekko SMaSH
On tap: Nelson dry hopped Berliner/ Scottish Heavy 70-/ NE IPA

Heating the strike water for 2 batches.
Soon to be my first 2 vessel brew and will be my nut brown first. While that is mashing, I'll be heating the strike water for my pineapple ipa. The wife has already questioned my sanity.

Maybe I missed something - two vessels, 2 brews - where is your pineapple ipa being mashed?

Thanks! I'm wishing I built out the grain build on the nut brown to do a double batch in that cooler. However probably best to leave well enough alone and try this beer before committing to 2 kegs lol.

20 mins til I start the boil on the pineapple.

That floor is not too slippery.

Are you driving or bussing tomorrow?

As for the floor, that stuff is water proof kids sunscreen. Floor wasn't slippery, but was some hard to clean up.

Picked up some Clarity Ferm from Dave. Asked my gluten-free wife what kind of beer she would like to make. Sigh. Today's beer will be very yellow with a couple of hop pellets sprinkled in :smackhead:

I'm thinking of brewing a Belgium Cherry Wheat this weekend...and fermenting on top of my Saison yeast cake.
