How big a pot did you get at Home Depot? I'm in the market for a pot and burner so I would be interested in hearing how it performs.

After what McGruff said, I looked up some product reviews on 1469 here: http://www.northernbrewer.com/shop/wyea ... -2008.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It sounds very good.

I get Bairds MO from NG and wanted to try Thomas Faucet MO as I think it is floor malted. I’d be interested to find out if you prefer it.

ps. just ordered some 1469.

I got a Brinkmann 30 QT system for $80, works well if you tie-wrap the safety pilot open so it over-rides the notoriously faulty temperature relay

Well was a busy day to say the least. Conditions wern't in my favor. Being sick, and the weather being shit.

That being said. I knocked out my pineapple ipa (forgot to take my OG due to rushing to say out of the rain. I kegged the Belma ipa (actually a DIPA!!!) and on top of that filtered and bottled 60 bottles of wine.

Time to look at something easy for supper.

Like Sandy it's a big brew day for us. Finally got the General put back together so we are going to do a 60L batch of Kolsch and a 60L batch of english bitter. Looks like it's going to be a great day for it. :cheers3:
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Not brewing, but just bought 5 cucumbers that I am planning to juice up tomorrow, add some campden tablets and add to a carboy. Will then rack my saison on it and leave for 3-5 days. Also kegging an IRA as my keezer is empty.

Mike came over and we brewed a galena/pilsner smash of sorts. 15lbs pilsner lme, 1 lb dextrose, 1oz galena @ 60, 20, 10, and 0. Boil size was 43l water plus Pilsen lme which was approx 4.75 liters. So 47.75 liters.

He's going to add the clarity ferm, and we are going to bring a sample to the next meeting.

We also kegged the pineapple ipa, this should be a nice session beer. I think Mike took a few pics.

Great job guys! I kegged my apricot wheat and raspberry wheat. Both were very tasty going from carboy to keg.

Making an English IPA with my new West Yorkshire ale yeast (Wyeast 1469). Bramling Cross, MO and Munich. Much less FWH hops so I'm not skimming to avoid too much bitterness. The yeast is supposed to be fast and flocculate quickly. The starter in the mason jar was crystal clear after 2 days in the fridge, and I liked the taste of the starter "beer".

A watched pot never boils, but if you don't watch it; it boils over. I decided not to watch it, sat outside with a cup of tea instead, and it didn't boil over.
