Great to hear. I'm hoping mine turns out, I used Columbus, Cascade and Citra and added .1oz of dry orange peel to the boil. I like the idea of the lemon/lime, may try that hop nextBBrianBoogie wrote:Very happy with it. The lemon/lime notes are very well suited to the style.

I'm making a small 60 minute addition and loading it up near the end of the boil with the hops for this one. The metallic taste in my last two Centennial heavy IPAs has me concerned about large first additions of high alpha/high myrcene hop varieties.

Re: What's everyone making this weekend?
The office shut down early today so that means an unexpected brew day, American Session Ale it is
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Re: What's everyone making this weekend?
I’m hoping my 20 gal mash pot with false bottom arrives by the weekend, also my water results, so I can brew. I’m stepping up the game by going back to full volume mashing, going to add salts to the water, and seriously take up experimenting with dry hopping. Thanks for all the help/advice on the water, dry hop and full volume mash threads. I’m set to go.

ps.
ps.
Michael, You are welcome to come up to Wolfville if you want, but I'm brewing on Sunday (we're away Sat) and it depends if I get my pot and water results in time.mikeorr wrote:Is anyone doing any brewing this Saturday (in HRM) that wouldn't mind a newbie dropping by to help / learn / ask questions?
Thanks!
Michael.

I'm hoping to brew this Pacific Jade Belgian IPA this weekend. Wait and see if the sickness has left the building.
