Chris is corrrect. We usualy do 60L final volume in the 100L brew pot. This time we did 2 simultainious boils for 100L final product. The record is more about the 4.5 hrs for that much brew. Our capacity record for 1 day is 160L final product.chalmers wrote:I believe LD did a triple batch of one IPA, and a double batch of another. "Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Single mash? If so, in what? Or is this making use of your new RIMs electric brewery equipment somehow?

Getting a red ale brewed to get rid of the last of my Columbus and Challenger leaf hops. Will now be only using pellets until I do a system upgrade.

Not making anything. Last 2 weeks I made ESB, Kolsch, Belgian, and 10 gallons Cream Ale. My wife is gonna freak when she comes home. At least BSNB is this weekend and I'll be drinking the rest of my currently kegged beer.
On Tap:
Falconers Galaxy IPA
Simcoe SMaSH
Topaz SMaSH
Cranberry Rye Saison

BCS Blonde Ale, maybe play with the hop additions some.
As a fund raiser for my Relay for Life team, I auctioned off 2 "Brewing Lessons" and I am doing the first lesson Saturday. The guy is a kit brewer who wants to see the process and equipment. He wants something that his wife will enjoy too.

Good idea Andy. I wish I had a better setup to have people over for brew days - but things are already crowded enough around here!

Hi Tim,Tim Gregory wrote:Brewing up a batch of lucky loonie tomorrow and just bottled a unibrou 17 clone.
I love the Unibroue beers! So far I have only had the La Fin de Monde, Don de Deiu, Blanche and Blonde de Chambly.
I would be interested in learning about any Unibroue recpies that are around that I haven't been able to purchase, I would give them a shot for sure.
I heard that the 17 was a great beer, also Trois Pistoles, Maudite, and Terrible
Thanks

Just dumped the grains in the kettle for a BCS hoppiness is an IPA, made it as an extract a few times so I'm looking forward to comparing an extract to an all grain.

Brewing a light lager with a little honey malt. I find that these light beers are great practice because there is no place for imperfections to hide like in those hoppy or dark beers. No my favourite to drink but I'm sure it won't go to waste. Summer is coming eventually isn't it?
