Wasp

Post by bsmith » Thu Jun 05, 2014 12:24 pm

So I somehow managed to get a wasp in one of my carboys during primary, the only time it was opened was when it was going from the bk, so it must have been in from the start.
Has this happened to anyone on here?

Thanks

Haha is it still flying around? (I'm assuming not) - just taste it before bottling, if it tastes alright you'll be fine! MYbe drink it fairly quickly after bottling.
planning: beer for my cousin's wedding
Fermenting: black ipa
Conditioning:
Kegged: barrel barleywine from 2014 - i think i still have this somewhere

I had one fall into a boiling pot of Munich Helles once. I scooped it out, but because it was boiling there was no risk of infection. Just keep an eye on it, if it looks, smells, and tastes fine, it probably is.

Somthing along the lines of "Big Stinger Ale" might be decent... ;)
