Greg Nash …master brewer

Post by GuingesRock » Sun Apr 20, 2014 10:48 am

He’s helped me a lot with my beer. He helps people on the site. He runs around helping brewery start-ups, and all with such generosity. He has training, experience, passion and dedication to beer, and makes some of the best beer I’ve ever had.

I can’t help wondering how much of the good beer in the Maritimes has his influence. I was drinking my IPA last night, it’s now dry hopped because he said my beer needed to be more “hop forward”. I like it more dry hopped. He “Nashed up” my water profile too. At the same time I have a belligerence, and want to keep some originality in my brewing. I’ll keep on skimming my FWH hops, dammit :) If I buy a Garrison beer, how much of that do I credit to Greg Nash and possible residual influence from when he worked there. All the start-ups that do well seem to have had his help.

Who gets the credit? Is the credit "balanced" like a good beer?

If I had a retirement brewery, and I might in 10 years, and Greg helped, I’d have to give him credit. The name NASH itself would be worth $$$$$ in publicity. It’s like a local stamp of approval.

Sorry about that. The Dark Lord we got in return was OK, but not great.

I'll check with you next time someone from away contacts me wanting a taste of your beer, and let you decide if they're worthy or not. :)

Most folks would never want to even try it in the first place, just look at the name of the God-damned beer....
