STC-1000 Temp Control Settings
Just getting ready to setup my stc-1000 temp controller for controlling a deep freezer and I'm wondering where to set the F1, F2, etc
looking to ferment a brew house cream ale kit and substituting their yeast with us-05
any suggestions? How have other people set theirs up?

The only setting I change is F1, and that's dependent on what I'm brewing. 19* is a good temperature for most ales, though.bluenose wrote:thank you Jimmy on the spot

Re: STC-1000 Temp Control Settings
does anyone use their STC 1000 controllers to operate a keezer? I'm wondering where I should set mine to keep some standby kegs at serving temp (approx 5*C)

Re: STC-1000 Temp Control Settings
I use mine on a fridge with a broken temp sensor (functions like a freezer) - I have it set to 4 to keep my beer around 4 or 5 but Ive never really double checked my beer temp...
planning: beer for my cousin's wedding
Fermenting: black ipa
Conditioning:
Kegged: barrel barleywine from 2014 - i think i still have this somewhere

Re: STC-1000 Temp Control Settings
Since we're discussing the setting on the STC-1000 I figured I'd throw in my 2 cents regarding F4...
I recently put two units together and decided to calibrate them against my Thermapen. One was off by .3ºC and the other by .5ºC. Not much of an issue for keezers and the like, but some people want to ensure their fermentation temps are as accurate as possible. Just a heads up if you're using one that you might want to calibrate it against a known good thermometer.
Cheers.

Re: STC-1000 Temp Control Settings
My STC-1000 seems to be warmer than my stick on thermometer. They used to be the same, so I guess calibration is in order.
