I think we are going to brew it again this weekend. Don't think 5 gal will be enough of this beer to last the holidays.

Well don't only take my word for it. The judges here http://www.montrealers.ca/en/competition/malt2013/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; seemed to like it.Barr wrote:Ok when it comes to brewing beer with tree parts I'll totally trust the guy who rides a moose. Re: Christmas/Holiday Brew ideas
I am going to add 2 vanilla beans (split and soaked in bourbon or vodka) to the secondary.jacinthebox wrote:I'm making a Chocolate Milk Stout for Christmas.
The coco (like expresso) should come in at the end. I think the vanilla will be more up front. Help balance the flavor more. It should help boost the coco flavor up a bit too.
Hoping. This addition will take this brew to the next level.
My god I love beer

BAH! Brew system/process was all messed up from the get-go. Yeast bugs wouldn't work, pitched more yeast, fermentation temps were all over the place (old-COLD house)...and in the end this thing literally blew up in my face with me dumping 80% of the bottles down the sink.Barr wrote:You are a wild man!! Meh, lesson learned, I'm new to this but I will definitly try this brew again...with LESS nutmeg though; fresh nutmeg is damn powerful stuff and thanks to 'ol Saint Nick I have a better brew setup now.
