For the past 3-4 months I was constantly on the hunt for a proper table to put behind the bar, a kitchen cart, sideboard, serving table, buffet table--something. Nothing I found seemed to be the right size/fit. Then, of all places I saw an ad in Canadian tire for a workbench and thought that might work. Worst case is I ended up with another work bench if it didn't work. I already owned one and knew the dimensions would be about right. My plan was to simply not assemble the back peg board/shelf portion of the bench. As it turned out, not only did it fit nicely, but the colour of the metal frame was black! My first work bench came in blue and I thought I'd just paint this one if need be.
The work bench comes with a small florescent light which I didn't need anymore for assembly, so I built a sign and back lit it! I also mounted my dispensers to the wall because the mount it came with wasn't holding up well and getting loose. It gives me quite a bit more space! The results:

Since this pic was taken, I added a strip to the bottom to cut back on the light a bit.
Next plans: A 2 tier step shelf?
