The 100 gallon limit is from a US Federal Law. Something about 100 G per person, with a max of 200 G per household. To my knowledge, there is no such limit in Canada. So, fill yer boots bye!

I have never heard of limits up here in Canada. If there were, how would they find out? I don't think homebrewing is even on any gov'ts radar, but if they only knew...

I could have sworn I answered this already, but then I was having some Internet problems yesterday.Anathema wrote:The only reason I asked was so I didnt buy a 2bbl system and only get to brew twice lol.
In Nova Scotia, you would check the Liquor Control Act: there are no limits.
Federally, it's the Excise Tax Act, and while I'm pretty sure that there were quite low limits when the Excise act was first changed to permit home-brewing, there are no limits now. I found a scary section, though, about distillation that makes it appear that beer-making is still illegal because you could distill the result. Like Nova Scotia's ridiculous description of "liquor" as anything that can be fermented if you add sugar and/or water and/or yeast.
I have no idea if there are volume limits elsewhere in Atlantic Canada - there were, at least until 2009, in Manitoba and Alberta.
