I think that is the direction I will go if I don't do electric. I'm tired of my sooty, gas guzzling burner from kent.Jimmy wrote:Did you add that to your cart to see what the total with shipping was?jeffsmith wrote:Hopdawgs.ca sells the Bayou Classic burners now as well:

Been thinking about grabbing one of the KAB6 burners myself.
The reason I'm asking is because NG stocks the Blichmann for $169 - I'm thinking you would be paying pretty much the same. By the looks of it, the burners are the same but you're getting stainless with the Blichmann, along with the ability to add legs. Not saying one is better than the other, I just know I'd prefer stainless if I'm paying the same amount.

I've never had an issue with soot, but I just find it doesn't put out enough power for the amount of propane it uses. Especially if you're heating anything over about 5 gallons of liquid.

I think mine is the cast iron 10" bayou classic, no complaints here, bottom line is that it kills the smaller models esp when you are in a hurry, and can really open it up to a blue afterburn resulting in a quick step to boil

Do you remember how much it cost you to buy it and get it over the boarder? I was looking at the Bayou but seemed like a bit of a PITA to get one here.Dirt Chicken wrote:I think mine is the cast iron 10" bayou classic, no complaints here, bottom line is that it kills the smaller models esp when you are in a hurry, and can really open it up to a blue afterburn resulting in a quick step to boil

Re: Burner Suggestions
I remember checking the tracking of the package and it went everywhere in the States and it went into quebec, then went back into the states before returning through maine. My burner came with the stand and the regulator intact and I think that cost me probably 220 dollars by the end of it.Graham.C wrote:Do you remember how much it cost you to buy it and get it over the boarder? I think I'm going to start with this http://www.homehardware.ca/en/rec/index ... R-I6420768 and work my way up to something like a bayou burner. I simply can't justify the best of everything all at once. I figure I'll upgrade at some point in the future.

Re: Burner Suggestions
Awesome i know i love mine, hough i wish they had the one with the wider stand years ago when i bought mine. Also wanted to note that it appears that the images for the KAB6 and the KAB4 are mixed up according to the descriptions, gotta love final edits for web design eh!jeffsmith wrote:Hopdawgs.ca sells the Bayou Classic burners now as well:

Re: Burner Suggestions
The burner itself is cast iron, the frame is the only thing stainless, i myself would recomend upgrading to the 10" banjo burner
