Are you using the universal poppets from OBK? Can't you press them down easily with your finger? I wondering if your posts are a bit short, you may need to chop a bit off the spring. I'm pretty sure I've seen Patrick mention that somewhere at one point about these universal poppets.

Universal. I can push them down, just not all the way.

I have used probably 8 universal poppets and have not had an issue yet. You usually have to push down relatively hard. I suppose you could trim the spring a bit like Jeff said.

I've had problems with the old ones not being aligned before I torqued down the fitting, but haven't tried the new ones.

I had a problem with one, figured out the spring was a little too long. Trimmed it down a little and works fine.

I cut the spring down a bit and it works now. I wonder if it's a spring issue, or if there are different posts that these springs would have worked on?

I think they're a bit long to be universal, and may need trimming. I've had good with them working without trimming, but Patrick did put up a note that they may need a trim. Glad they're working now.

Bought universal poppets from NG for my three kegs. I had to cut about 1/2 turn off all of them.
