Thanks for all the suggestions, looking at current beer stock (down to 32 pints in 3 days) my brother and I are going to do another kit this weekend just to get some inventory started. From there though I'll invest in a decent pot/kettle and start working my way up from there. I really like the simplicity of the gear for BIAB, so I'm still leaning that way, and Jimmy's video makes it look like something I can certainly handle.

Lots of good suggestions for managing time, I think I could keep the wife happy and still spend time with the little man, the only obstacle right now is living on about 1/2 our normal income with her on mat leave means probably no big investments until the fall. Oh well, gives me plenty of time to become and expert at cleaning and sanitizing!

I've been digging the 3 gallon stove top biab batches lately. I use 2 Walmart stock pots, a paint strainer bag from home hardware and 3 gallon water bottles (pet) with a blow off tube or a regular carboy. Works like a charm

I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chamber of my brain -
Quaintest thoughts - queerist fancies
Come to life and fade away;
What care I how time advances?
I am drinking ale today." ~ Poe
