Kegging while camping
I would like to be able to bring a keg on camping trips but I don't want to build a jockey box. Has anyone had success with fitting a 5 gallon corny in a big cooler ( was thinking 100 qt or 150 qt)? I think I could keep it cold with ice for a few days and just bring one of those paint ball cylinders for dispensing. Any help or pictures appreciated.

Insulate a 5 gal bucket or 2 and add ice. There are garbage cans pictured on the net as well.

You can keep the keg standing in the cooler full of ice and it will stay cold. The beer is being pulled from the bottom so it should be good and cold down there. The problem is the cooler's gonna be open so your ice will melt, so you might need a second cooler full of ice.

Re: Kegging while camping
I have what you are looking for.
It is 2 x 5gal Home Depot Coolers, the top one has the bottom cut out and is bolted to the bottom one. A Pepsi keg fits real nice and a bag or two of ice on top/down the sides, works well.
I have moved onto a Jockey box so I no longer use it.
I have a notch cut out to get CO2 in and Beer line out.
Going to try to attach a pic to this post. The pic was upright on my PC, who knows what it will be on here.
I used Paint Ball canisters to dispense as well, the cup holders for the coolers hold the CO2 well.
Bottom has some cracking, so I put a garbage bag around the keg and ice between the bag and keg after it is inside the coolers.
Yours if you want it, maybe a couple of home brew in return?

Re: Kegging while camping
If broob doesn't take it I would. I occasionally make beer for my brother in law's ball team, and for those times this would be great. It's simple and hard to break

Re: Kegging while camping
I won't be needing it. Just discovered that I can fit two 2.5 gallon kegs in a cooler that I already have. Thanks Ryan, that was a generous offer.
