And other hops of course, say simcoe or citra. Wonder if it would work best in a lighter or darker beer? Any thoughts?

I can't think of a reason why not, but since it doesn't taste very good and THC isn't water soluble, I'd figure it'd just be a waste of both.

True that THC is an oil but the proteins from the cold break should give the THC something to bind to. Perhaps the hazier the beer the better the binding ability of TCH. Perhaps a 1 gallon test batch is in order.

You'd likely be better off making a tincture with a high proof spirit and then adding to the beer. The oils are soluble in alcohol.

I can attest to this personally. I sampled a big IIPA once that someone made that was dry 'hopped' with pot. (THC is alcohol soluble, so high gravity beers seem to be the most sensible--or possibly only--route.) Anyway, it was a bit of a wash: it didn't taste good (not quite bong water, but not very tasty either) and wasn't a very efficient delivery mode for the 'medicinal' components. Unless you're a king pin with an infinite experimental supply of ingredients, I'd advise against trying this.

Aside: Denny Conn reflects on this in Experimental Homebrewing. I don't have the exact quote, but he says something like: Drink beer, eat fruit, and smoke your smokeables--don't mix them! :)
