Yeast for a Belgian Style IPA?

Post by jtmwhyte » Wed Jul 22, 2015 9:51 pm

I'm looking to produce something along the lines of Bridge's Belgian IPA but can't decide on a yeast. Any thoughts from the crowd?

"Fill with mingled cream and amber,
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chamber of my brain -
Quaintest thoughts - queerist fancies
Come to life and fade away;
What care I how time advances?
I am drinking ale today." ~ Poe

Never made one, but Jamil et al. used WLP 400 for their clone of Raging Bitch on Can You Brew It: http://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=313458" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Fermentis T-58
Monastery Ale Yeast (WLP500)
Belgian Ale (WLP550)
Belgian Strong Ale (WLP545)
Belgian Abbey (WLP530)
Belgian Abbey II (WLP540)

Just off the top of my head. I recently had someone bring in a bottle of Belgian IPA that was made with T-58 and it was good, the yeast profile was right on. Haven't had one with the other strains I just rattled off, but they are all in the same region for profile.
