high fermentation temp
So here' my issue, brewed an APA yesterday as a " guest" beer put it down to ferment but reversed the heat and cool plugs on the temp controller. Didnt realize till tonight temp was @ 31*c . don't think i killed the yeast, from the look of it I'll hit FG in about 4 days. Anyone else done anything similar? If so can it be saved? if not can you feed it to people who like bud lite?

Re: high fermentation temp
What yeast are you using?
If it's not heat tolerant you will likely end up with a bunch of esters and phenols. It probably isn't ruined, but won't be perfect. Some yeasts are more tolerant to high temps. A Belgian strain would eat it up.

I was thinking the same thing what type of yeast did you use? WLP001/US05 or Notty? I've hit 25C in error and did my best to get it down ASAP.

I see in your other post it was US05. You will most likely notice some off flavours above 25C which is top end as you know for that yeast. I say ride the lightening and cool it down as quick as you can and hope for the best. Bring some to the meeting at the end of Oct. It would be a good learning experience and I'd like to taste it. Worst case scenario you will have beer. Goof luck hopefully you will be OK with it.

Re: high fermentation temp
I lost more than 7 points on my last batch. But adjusted my mash temp last minute. So wait and see.
