I thought this was pretty informative stuff:

I'm wondering if we should have a food forum on here - seems a natural combo to have great food with great beer.

Hey thanks! Brisket is my next challenge for the smoker.
I agree with the food forum too.

Food forum I can do, and I will try and move all the existing food topics over to that forum.

I get full packers in through the H&T, we basically do group orders on them. They come in a case of 6 briskets, frozen for about $3/lb, they're pretty good and usually pretty big, 12 - 18 lbs.

I've got a bunch of other guys waiting for some of these so I'm going to order them asap. Will have them next week.

Oulton's in Windsor has some good bisket if you don't mind the drive. As well they sell the cheapest jerky anywhere, I think it's still only around $15.00 /lb and its good!!

Briskets are in. I think they average about 12 - 13 lbs each. Price is $2.95/lb. Let me know when you can grab it

It's not a grocery store though, it's a restaurant/brewpub. We drink a lot of beer there and have a good relationship with the staff, so on occasion, we have been able to get a box of briskets. I can't remember the price, I just hand over money and get meat...

Cool, if you know when you're heading down, put a post in the H&T thread, might be some others interested in getting together for a brew.
I was told about another good resource for brisket, and I can't remember the name. It was liverdance's friend who mentioned it to me, you could pm him.
