Big Green Egg Owners - Read This

Post by Jimmy » Sun Apr 01, 2012 4:43 pm

Could someone measure the size of the fire ring on their large BGE for me (outside edge to outside edge, and inside to inside)? I'm trying to figure out if the BGE accessories will fit my grill.

Thanks!
:cheers2:

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

The grill on my egg is 18 1/4"
It has around 1/4" play to the egg shell.

He's looking more for the measurement of the firebox/ring, he's wondering if a platesetter will sit on his firebox. I say make a rack and use firebricks or just lay the firebricks on the main grate and put the food on the upper grate although headroom is limited up there :cheers2:

I was wondering if he was thinking of that.

The plate setter is 18" round and with the legs is 3 5/8" high.

The outer diameter of the fire ring is 18 1/2 inches.

Sweet, same size.

I don't plan on making any moves on accessories yet. I'm going to play around with it first and get the hang of using it. I'll judge what I need after doing that :cheers2:

Proper thing. I'd grab one of these things over a platesetter I think....
