Little parilla in buenos aires? The beef here if fucking amazing. If you've had meat Mongers 6 week dry aged meats then this is close maybe even better. Oh and cheap as hell, shit for beer but it makes up for it in red wine!

We did fresh ground burgers for 30 people on Saturday - Vision kamadoo got a good workout with sausages added in to the mix. Appetizer was smoked salmon with garlic and sun dried tomatoes done on the WSM. Leftovers on Sunday were put to good use with a classic double cheeseburger.

Fishing has been great here these past few weeks.
Been eating quite a bit of cod done is so many ways lately that the shark I had on that got away would have been a nice treat.

I also did a brisket this weekend. It was my first at 8.9lbs with amazingribs.com's texas mop for a sauce. I wrapped it after 4 hours and rested it one hour in a cooler at the end. People enjoyed it so much that we didn't get a picture of it sliced and there weren't really any leftovers. Next one will be done at a higher temperature for less time to combat the drying out of the flat.

It weighed in at 27 Lbs and reports from across the Island had some fish weighing in at 50 + pounds. I got mine on rod and reel, but the really big ones were got on a hand line.

Have a great time in Japan.
Cheers

Looks great Nick. I think it is time for me to do a fattie soon.

Jeff, that steak sure do look good. With the great weather we are starting to have that is supposed to extend into next week, I think a buttload of grilling is in my future

summary of the following food: all really good, all really cheap.

Zapporo (17).JPG
Genghis Khan - thin strips of lamb etc that you throw on the grill and dip in a sauce

Zapporo (13).JPG
Best ramen I've had yet, at 430am in Sapporo

Zapporo (1).JPG
some nash-worthy burgers.

tokyo (17).JPG
kabucha (squash) and cheese dumpling, sorta rolled in a panko crust and deep fried. really good, bought at convenience store for like $1.50. so cheap so good

tokyo (12) 3.jpg
fast food "Mos Burger"

tokyo (12) 2.jpg
skewered chicken wing. salted. smokey and so crispy. scale is deceptive, was a normal tip-on size of chicken wing

tokyo (1).jpg
skewers at an izakaya in tokyo. chicken livers, hearts, and skin.
