Alright, this starts Friday, when Shelley's niece goes down to the SB for lunch, with reservations.

Friday around 5pm, Shelley decides to meet her niece there for a quick snack. As they are finishing up their food, as in not actually finished eating their food, the staff comes by and plunks down the bill and a reservation card on their table. In other words, get the fuck out. Somewhat pissed by that. Fine.

Now, I had planned to take Shelley out for dinner for her birthday, and she figured Saturday night would be best. So, after having a couple beer at the H&T with Nash on Saturday afternoon, I get home and she says she wants to go to the Stubborn Goat. Really? Anyway, it's her birthday, and I'm cool with anything. So she calls to make reservations, and they tell her that they don't take reservations, walk in only.

So we get down there, walk up to the door, observe that the fucking top floor is empty, along with the back corner, and the guy says an hour wait, as the top floor and back corner are reserved for a corporate function.

On top of the glaring inconsistencies, could you not have told us by phone that a huge area of the building was going to be taken up by a huge corporate function, instead of us going down there to find that out? Will not see me in the door ever again. Ever.

In summary - :finger:

Sounds like you got really poor service and mixed messages for sure! Not a good way to spend a special occasion! I encourage you to give Gier a call or email him with feedback. As a business owner, I would want to know if something like this was happening at Nomad so corrective action could take place.

I have his info if you need it.

We've been there three or four times before Friday night hockey games and have always been more than happy with both food and service. Perhaps you hit them on a bad day.

I've only gone the once and didn't have any serious issues but there was a vibe that kept me from going back. Could have just been the waiter I had that one day but just felt really stuck up and for no reason whatsoever.

I've been many times times (twice for food), and enjoyed the place quite a bit. Unfortunate that you had a bad experience, best to contact the manager and/or owner, to be sure he or she understands your issues.
Maybe the person on the phone didn't realize you were heading there that afternoon, or else they would have warned you. I also thought they did not take reservations, must only be corporate ones.
