Greetings from Amherst NS
Hi all,
Brewing for two years, kits and then all-grain for the past year. Very frustrated with this winter weather and rapidly coming to the conclusion that an all electric HERMs set up is the way to go for all-year-round home brewing. Very impressed with this Brewnosers forum and grateful for the vast amount of information that is shared among the members. My short term aim is to brew some of the old European beer styles, i prefer the heavy, dark, malty brews
Cheers to all
Vanilla Porter - secondary
Light Ale - Keg
Chocolate Stout - bottled

Hello, and welcome. I agree with the electric indoor idea, either that or move to a different country. Not sure about the HERMS idea, not even sure what that is, although I used to know what that stood for

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

We've been pretty quiet lately, but keep your eye on our local group section here: http://brewnosers.org/forums/viewforum.php?f=36" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; err, LD beat me to it - I should read the whole thread...
We're long overdue for a get-together...
