want to start keg brewing

Post by jabbrro » Tue Nov 04, 2014 11:55 pm

Hello,
I use to be a big home brewer years ago, and got out of it. I have recently got back into it, and have decided to get into kegging. I hear alot of good things about brewing this way, and was told from someone I just bought a CO2 can from, that this forum is a great place to be a part of. I have read some of the forums and got some good tips already, and of course you gotta love youtube. I have one corny ball lock keg to start, and am looking for a couple more in the near future reasonably priced. looking forward to joining in on some of the forums.

Jab :c)

Welcome aboard! Kegging sure is nice, makes life easier in the cleaning department. Folks are buying and selling kegs fairly often on here, or we point to kijiji ads to share the love, so check back every once in a while, you'll probably find a deal pretty soon. :)

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

I think my Brewing really turned a corner for the better when I started Kegging. I spend less time and effort cleaning and prepping bottles and more time on my Actual process

"Fill with mingled cream and amber,
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chamber of my brain -
Quaintest thoughts - queerist fancies
Come to life and fade away;
What care I how time advances?
I am drinking ale today." ~ Poe
