Hello Brewnosers

Post by russventure » Mon Jan 06, 2014 4:56 pm

Hey all,

My name is Russell, I just started brewing in Halifax. I got all the gear off of Kijiji and picked up A Festa Brew Red Ale for my first attempt. It seems really simply, and that's what I wanted. I guess I will begin lurking around the forum and posting once I feel more confident and graduate to actual home brews instead of kits haha. Wish me luck, and cheers to everyone! :cheers2:

:welcome: I would say most of us here have started out the same way you have
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Welcome! FB is a great entry into the craft. I recently graduated from FB kits myself and moved onto Partial Grain kits Noble Grape offered. A spot to visit locally would be Everwoodavebrewshop.com, Dave has the best prices around, and is conveniently located in Hammonds Plains. He has everything you need.
