Another new Charlottetowner
Hi folks. I've been kicking around on the forums for a while but am only getting around to introductions now. I've only been in pei for a couple of years and am finding Maritimers to be a friendly welcoming bunch. I had previously brewed a couple of festa kits but it seemed like a good time to try something more exotic so I have just pitched my first extract boil (roasted dandelion root brown ale).

Originally Czech but my family moved to Ontario when I was a kid so that's where I grew up. Spent a few years travelling and a few more in Quebec, but the island seems more like a final destination then a stop along the way. Thanks for the warm welcome!

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.

Re: Another new Charlottetowner

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Be glad to. Thanks for the invite. With a bit of luck in timing I might even have my first proper brew ready by then!hogie wrote:Welcome to the Aleanders! Hopefully you can join us for a monthly meeting soon. Stay tuned to the Events section for the details.
